Inflation may have dropped recently, but the rate remains higher than it was for a long time before 2022 and the 3%-4% we are currently experiencing is of course on top of the 10%+ annual increases of the last 2 years. And of course, whilst this is the average inflation rate, the real rises in costs have varied significantly, with some sectors and products rising much more steeply, so the impact on individual companies has been very different. Construction material prices increased by a huge amount from 2021 to 2023, due to both cost pressures on raw materials and a high demand through the pandemic.
As is often the case in times of higher inflation, customers and consumers cut back on, or delay some of their discretionary purchases, which has also put pressure on many sectors who buy from our resellers.

Our strong supplier relationships, many of them over 15 years old together with our large warehouse and knowledge of the market means we can secure and hold stocks of key lines, enabling us to smooth out the short-term cost variances, without having to implement frequent price increases.
We can offer kits, combining hoses and accessories, which are better value for customers and many of our accessory products are small in size and price, making them ideal for impulse sales at the point of purchase, boosting our resellers’ share of the customer’s wallet,
