Milestones from our history
We’ve packed a lot into our 70+ years of manufacturing and supplying hoses and accessories to resellers. Winster hoses are used by a wide range of businesses from traditional industrial applications to the construction sector and many more. 1948 - 1960
- Winster Hose was established by Bill Wheatley
- Focused on supplying hydraulic hose to the deep mining industry
- 14 depots supplying additional industries such as Construction and OEM’s

1970 - 1992
- Mining industry declined
- Winster focussed on general industrial hose supply
- Winster dropped ‘Hose’ from its title and became Winster Limited
1995 - 1998
- Focussed on all industries needing supply of low pressure industrial hose
- Relocated to Wolverhampton as one 8,000 sq ft central distribution centre
- Robert Wheatley - son of Bill Wheatley - took over the business
- 50th Anniversary
2000
- ISO accreditation achieved
2008 - 2012
- Focussed on servicing retail and automotive aftermarket
- Due to success, relocated to larger 20,000 sq ft warehouse
- Winster Outdoor range launched - a range dedicated to retail landscaping and garden markets
- Increased distribution space to 24,000 sq ft following further success
2014
- Relocation of manufacturing hub and production department
- Focus and revision of our Quality and Lean practices
- Increased production of assemblies, own brand and bespoke customer packaging
2016
- Founder, Bill Wheatley, passed away
- Robert Wheatley became chairman and promoted Val Gardner to Managing Director

- Changed from Aspray to Active for pallet deliveries
2021
- Updated branding
2021 - 2025
- Team strengthened with addition of Avril, Jack, Russ and Kerry
2022
- Introduced customer contact programme
2023
- Changed from Tuffnels to EDS couriers

- New website launched
